Version 1.0 · Effective October 28, 2026
pgbrake is made and sold by Zhang Lixiang, an individual developer ("we", "us"). Contact: zlexang@gmail.com. By downloading, installing, purchasing or using pgbrake you agree to these terms.
pgbrake is a command-line tool and local MCP server that guards a PostgreSQL database used by AI coding agents. The free edition is open source under the MIT License, and that license governs your use of the free source code. pgbrake Pro is a paid license key that unlocks additional features described on the pricing page. The software runs on your own computer; we do not host your data or your database.
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to buy a Pro license.
Pro is sold as a one-time purchase at the price shown on the pricing page at checkout. There is no subscription and nothing renews automatically. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller and Merchant of Record, Waffo Pancake, who handles payment, invoicing, tax and payment-related customer service. Payment card data is processed exclusively by Waffo Pancake, a PCI-DSS compliant processor, and is never stored by us. Prices are in US dollars; applicable taxes are calculated at checkout.
After payment you receive a license key by email. Each key is for one developer and may be used on any number of that developer's machines. Do not share, publish or resell keys. Your purchase includes all 0.x and 1.x releases; we may offer later major versions separately.
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason, under our Refund Policy. A refunded key may no longer be used.
If you don't recognize a charge or have a billing problem, please email us first; we'll resolve it or refund you. Filing a chargeback without contacting us may lead to the license being revoked.
Use pgbrake only on databases you are authorized to access. Do not use it to break the law, attack systems, or circumvent its license checks for redistribution.
Your use of pgbrake is also governed by our Privacy Policy. The software stores its journal, audit log and saved rows on your own machine and does not send them to us.
pgbrake is a safety aid, not a backup system. It is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. Undo works only for changes made through pgbrake and may fail if rows changed afterward. Keep your own backups.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or loss of data or profits. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for pgbrake Pro.
We may revoke a license that was obtained by fraud, charged back, refunded, or shared publicly. You may stop using pgbrake at any time.
These terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.
We may update these terms. The version and effective date above show the current terms; changes don't affect licenses already bought.
